Couplet
Definition: A pair (two) lines of poetry brought together by rhyming. All couplets are stanzas, but not all stanzas are couplets/
Example:
"It was purchased just for you,
when you're happy or you're blue,
you can wear it on your head,
around the house or in your bed,
you can wear it in the dark,
while you're strolling in the park." -Sam French
Significance: A couplet in a poem is important because of the way the poem is read. The couplet rhymes, making it more fun to read, and making is more enjoyable. Couplet usually reaches out to young people, because poetry to them is like Dr.Seuss, not Shakespeare. Couplet is a more fun way of reading poetry.\
